Note: The following is all true, so do NOT question any of the events that occur in this scene( Just kidding questions are welcome and these events are really true.)
When I used to stay in Kenya my house used to be connected to factory area and thus I had a large area to play(When i mean large, I mean LARGE probably more than 7 acres- excluding the farm). There used to be a warehouse nearby. Now it just happened to be that that month there was hay being stored in the warehouse and stacks of maize(corn) sacks stacked neatly like stairs outside it (They play a very important role as lifesavers and unnecessary risks.). A friend of mine had come over to play and as usual we set out to explore more of the area(though I already knew most of it, it was still interesting) and reached the maize stacks. There was a guard tower standing tall and scarily(i just happened to be 8 years old so i was pretty short and saw everything as extra large)right in front of the stacks(with a gaurd inside) and as I remember he didnt like me playing around there. Since, as i said ,i was short and my friend though definately bigger( not just in height but around the midriff too) snooped past him wiothout him noticing (he was tuning in to a radio station so it wasn't so hard). We then entered the ware house and played around in the hay and found so many useful things( like fine copper wire and shiny paper that reflected very well).
After some time the gaurd unfortunately(for us) heard our frolic and came to inspect. We quickly hid behind one of the bales we had displaced(with alot of effort too). The gaurd who we thought was looking for the source of the noise turned out to be guiding a truck in to collect some hay. We were quite high up so my first thought was "UHOH!!" they would come to the top to collect the bundle so that they could maintain a step like formation. But, to my surprise they started taking the bundles at the bottom! Amd they seemed to be in a hurry too. After they had made off with the hay(In 5 min too! Though that was like an eternity) the hay was no longer a staircase but half a staircase( that truck was either very big or very long) and was too high for me and my friend to jump( about a standard 2 storey height). We were stuck!!!!!! We were looking for every other possible way down(apart from jumping directly on a very stony area, with sharp stones too), when we heard the gate bein locked! So we just stopped trying to get down and started screaming, but to no aviail as noone could hear us. I then got the idea to go the top of the stack and see if we could somehow get help (or get out). When my friend and me reached the top we found (to our surprise) that the maize stacks reached exactly 3 ft. below us. I asked my friend if he was up to a dangerous jump (If we jumped and slipped the wrong way we would have had a fall pretty at 90 degrees to the ground.). He said he would try but i could almost feel his fear.
I held my breath gripped the edge and just pushed into the oblivion to feel like i was flying( though that ended pretty quickly) and then banged down comfortably on to the stack with (luckily) only a sore behind( My friend wasn't so lucky and landed head on!). We both made our way down to find the gaurd sleeping on the stacks themselves a few levels down. Now we were in trouble as should we wake him we would have been chased off the area or kicked (literally) off.
The sound of the grain crunching slightly as we passed seem to be competing with my heart's loud thumping and my friend too seemed to be facing a similar situation.
Later when we reached home we were greeted by a happy motner who said that she had got some icecream and cake for tea and that she was hoping we were hungry. We looked at each other and rushed inside to see who could reach the table first. We enjoyed our tea and my friend left later when his parents came to pick him up.
For the record we managed to get past the sleeping gaurd onto so;id ground befor e he got up so he just yelled at us and shooed us away, sat down again on the maize, pulled his cap low over his face and fell back into his peaceful sleep we had disturbed. My parents didn't find till a week later, but just laughed at the incident( I joined in too) and told me that I should never try it again.
